Studio Lates
We invite guest speakers within our network to share their knowledge and showcase their unique talents. It is a series of educational (but fun!) talks, with a focus on topics across the food and drink world.
For every session, the Mr Lyan Studio creative team creates bespoke snacks and drinks (including at least one non-alcoholic option), inspired by the speaker.
Events are held in the intimate setting of our basement bar at Mr Lyan Studio HQ, and in collaboration with Fever-Tree.

‘Taking the terror out of terroir’
Using science to demystify wine and challenge conventional wisdom.
Sunny Hodge our first guest at Studio Lates for 2026. He will delve into the science behind the terroir in wine and how we can use this knowledge to work our way around a wine list.
Sunny is a prominent figure in the London wine scene, the founder of award-winning wine bars Diogenes the Dog and Aspen & Meursault, an author, a wine judge, and an educator. He is a proponent of using science to demystify wine and challenge conventional wisdom.
His book, 'The Cynics Guide to Wine' was listed in the New York Times 'The Most Interesting Wine Books of 2025'. A limited number of copies of the book will be available for sale at the event.
